Brakes are the most important safety device of any vehicle and one of the key pieces of technology in the design process.

It is vital that they are kept in good working order to function properly.

When you apply the brakes, the pads should be applied equally, and if one is worn more than the other, the vehicle will pull to either the left or right. Another potential cause of this may be a sticking brake calliper.

Also, if you notice vibration coming through your steering wheel or brake pedal as you slow down it is a sign that your brake discs are warped.

Other signs to look out for include brake fluid leaks on the inner wheel and a soft brake pedal which needs to be pushed all the way to the floor before the vehicle begins to slow down.

Drivers should also listen for squeaking, squealing, metal-on-metal grinding while driving, often a sign that brake pads need to be replaced, and other noises that indicate wear.

If you think there is problem with your brakes you, should get them checked by a qualified technician as soon as possible.
